Hi there! My name is Katie Marin, and I am the author of The Counseling Perspective. Thank you so much for being here! I am an elementary school counselor in Houston, Texas and I have 12 years of experience in the education realm including time spent in elementary and middle school as both a teacher and a school counselor. I am incredibly passionate about mental health and I love teaching children and adults how to regulate emotions so that they can thrive in life.
The Counseling Perspective is a blog dedicated to helping parents navigate raising children in a way that fosters resilience and encourages emotional regulation. As a parent of two young children, I know how challenging parenting can be. With time, patience and perseverance, I believe every parent can find the tools to guide children in a way that feels balanced and in return, help children find balance within themselves.
